Flat steels in the form of rolls or sheets with thickness ranging between 0.5 – 2.00 mm are produced by hot rolling of slab, a rectangular semi-finished product resulting from solidification of liquid steel by continuous casting method, in the hot rolling mill.
Usage Areas
These flat steels are used in all applications such as industrial buildings, elevator protections, food sector, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, cement factories, dams, power plants, ship and yacht construction, production of durable home appliances, production of visible and invisible parts of the automotive sector, production of white goods, production of home and office furniture, production of heating-cooling-ventilation equipment and similar applications.
Extra deep-drawable sheets are used in the production of all kinds of parts requiring deep drawing. In addition to their weldability properties, they can easily be chemically coated on the surface.
Low carbon and micro-alloyed high-strength-low-alloy steel grades produced by microalloying method and maintaining their weldability properties are used, especially in the production of automotive parts that require good formability and high strength.
Single layer/double layer enamel-suitable sheets are used in the production of enamel kitchen utensils (such as ovens and pots) that preserve the properties of the food inside and outside, in addition to their deep drawability. You can see the dimensions and weights of DKP sheets from the table below.
